Xavi, 41, a former Barcelona pro midfielder, is favourite to replace Dutch Manager Ronald Koeman as the new Catalans head coach.
Last week, Koeman was relieved of his managerial duties following poor results.
Turki Al-Ali, Chief Executive of Al Sadd, said: "The club's position is clear from the beginning - we are committed to keeping Xavi with us.
"We cannot have him leave at this sensitive time of the season."
After winning only four games out of eleven, Barcelona sit ninth on the Spanish top flight table, and are nine points behind toppers Real Sociedad.
