Manchester United sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Watford defeat
Manchester United have relieved Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of his managerial duties following an 'embarrassing' 4-1 Premier League defeat by Watford at the Vicarage Road on Saturday.

United have confirmed that Solskjaer's assistant Michael Carrick will be in charge on temporary basis, also the club disclosed their plan to appoint an interim Manager until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag are understood to be on Manchester United's list to replace Solskjaer.

Pochettino is the club's first choice as Solskjaer's permanent replacement, with the former Tottenham manager potentially becoming more attainable by the summer than he is currently. Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag is understood to be United's second choice.
In July, Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put pen to paper on a new three-year deal with the Red Devils, however, he exits Old Trafford after suffering five defeats out of their last seven top flight matches.

After the Watford-Manchester United match, Red Devils Spanish Goalkeeper David De Gea described the outcome as "embarrassing" and "unacceptable".
