Atalanta 2-2 Manchester United: Varane injured and will be out for weeks

Manchester United disclosed that defender Raphael Varane will be out of action for four weeks due to the injury he picked up during the UEFA Champions League clash against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.

The English football club revealed that the France international suffered a hamstring injury during the game which ended in a 2-2 draw in Italy.


Varane was withdrawn from action in the first half of the encounter while Atalanta had already taken a 1-0 lead.

Forward Mason Greenwood replaced the defender and thanks to a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, the Red Devils ended sharing points with their Italian hosts.


The injury will keep Varane out of action in the derby between Manchester United and Manchester City on Saturday at Old Trafford.
