Noble was brought on completely to take the spot kick as Manchester United stood firm for a 2-1 triumph right inside the London Stadium.
The Hammers went ahead in the half hour mark through Said Benrahma's shot from 20 yards which was deflected by defender Raphael Varane.
Five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo levelled for the Red Devils and Jesse Lingard who played as loanee for West Ham last season came back to haunt them as he netted the winner for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the 89th minute.
